DIY Thanksgiving Napkin Rings

The wonderful thing about Thanksgiving is that it’s so relaxed compared to the other big holidays. There are no gifts to buy. Any decorating has been done since probably September and you don’t need to worry about an outfit for the kids!

You just get the 3 F’s…….Family, Food, and Fun!! What’s not to love?

This year, many people are having smaller gatherings than typical. So why not make it a little extra special? It’s easier to go the extra mile if there’s only an small group eating instead of the usual crowd.

Jazz up the table settings, or make something different to eat than you normally do!

The girls and I decided to set our dining room table extra fancy this year. We made some super cute napkin rings using supplies that I already had. Of course, I’m a little bit of a hoarder with crafts lol!

You will need:

  • Paper towel tube or toilet paper tubes

  • Ribbon

  • Hot glue/gun

  • Scissors

  • Fall “do dads” to jazz them up with

This is what I grabbed out of my stash.

First, I used the ribbon as a guide to figure out how big to cut my rings from the tube.

I got 7 rings out of one paper towel tube.

I hot glued the burlap ribbon around the tube. Be careful not to use too much so that it shows through. I also folded the end that overlaps so that there’s no raw edge.

I found this pumpkin ribbon from the Dollar Tree. It has a little sparkle on it, but not too much.

I cut out some leaf shapes from that ribbon. I didn’t try to be perfect. I just eyeballed it. No stress. Just go with it. lol

I folded up a strand of raffia and tied it in the center with another piece of raffia.

I snipped the ends of the raffia so they weren’t loops anymore. Then I glued the ribbon leaf on the tube with a pumpkin on top and the raffia bow beside the pumpkin.

The pumpkins were from Joann Fabrics I bought awhile back at the beginning of fall. (I’m sure I had a coupon)!lol
